Riley Cheer Guild Music Therapy
Riley Music Therapists focus on three primary domains:
Distress Management
Riley MT provides pathways to improve psychological, behavioral, and physiological functioning
Functional Skill Reinforcement
Riley MT supports and enhances patients’ ability to engage in activities which assist in slowing or halting decompensation, building tolerance to stimulation, and/or gaining functional skills
Resilience
Riley MT supports patients and families’ ability to endure, manage, or overcome stressors.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION AND Application Process
Start Dates are offered Fall 2025 and Winter 2026
Application Deadline: December 15, 2024
Interns work 40 hours a week
The internship is divided into an orientation period plus 3-4 intensive rotations
During the rotations, interns get to work closely with one music therapist in their areas of expertise

Riley Cheer Guild is a volunteer auxiliary that provides comfort and cheer to patients and caregivers at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and the IU Health adult hospitals on the academic health center in downtown Indianapolis.
